The 100 Most Dangerous Cities In America—Is Yours On The List?

Crime Rates

Every city in America has crime—but some have more than others, and some have way more than that. Based on data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation Uniform Crime Reports, we have gone and ranked the 100 most dangerous cities in the country. And the results will surprise you.

Cities such as Atlanta, Chicago, and Los Angeles are probably lower on the list than you might think. And while California has two cities in the top 10, the number one city in this ranking...you'll never guess.

For each city, we provide numbers that correlate to: Yearly Crime Rates per 100,000 people, Violent Crime Totals (murder, robbery, Aggravated assault , etc), and Property Crime Totals (burglary, larceny theft, motor vehicle theft).

Also, we've used the Yearly Crime Rates per 100,000 people as the ranking number to determine the position of each city on the list...
